Drop The Spoon

This Sunday, November 6th marked the end of the Halloween festivities at Pairi Daiza and the last projections of our 4 mappings made for this occasion.

This 2022 edition was a bit special since our first mapping designed for this fabulous Park: "La Balade Des Gisants" (The Walk of the Recumbents), created in 2017 and completed by new paintings since, was played for the last time.

Indeed, our majestic millennium-old architectural support - the Cambron Tower - will, from 2023, enter a well-deserved restoration phase.

This year, "La Balade Des Gisants" (The Walk of the Recumbents) was renamed "L'Adieu Des Gisants" (The Farewell of the Recumbents).

But was it a farewell ... or just a goodbye?

Drop The Spoon

This year the Pairi Daiza Park asked us to expand the bestiary of the Monsters of the Deep that we created last year for three initial occupants: Nessie , the Kraken and a three-headed Hydra.

So we offered them another legend of the deep: Mobydick and a Giant Crab with sharp claws.

These five legendary animals are projected as holograms on a 40-meter wide water screen in the middle of the Pairi Daiza Lake.

MONSTERS OF THE DEEP: a mapping on water screen created by DROP THE SPOON for PAIRI DAIZA in partnership with GRAND LES YEUX.

Video projectors by Eventcom
Waterscreen technology by Crystal Group.

Until November 6, 2022 at Pairi Daiza Park.

TRICK OR TREAT - Pumpkin's Lair

Our brand new Halloween "burlesque" mapping created for the poetic and extraordinary Pairi Daiza Park and its garden of worlds.

Written and created by Drop The Spoon for the Parc Pairi Daiza in partnership with Grand Les Yeux.
_

Legend has it that a huge treasure is buried in a well-guarded room in the castle at the heart of Pairi Daiza.
This treasure, a gargantuan pumpkin bewitched and overflowing with treats collected by the animals of the park, would be accessible only by a simple door opening only once a year, on Halloween.

But which door is it, the castle is full of them!

Danger! Danger to anyone who tries to break through them. Most of them are guarded by the mischievous treasure-stealing skeletons. Clumsy impostors, pretending to be resident animals of the park, whose objective would be none other than to be the first to seize the legendary treasure of sweets.
They will use every trick in the book to scare and dissuade anyone with a pure soul from touching the pumpkin, the only condition to access its magical contents.

But will the chosen one succeed, and if so, who will it be?

Drop The Spoon

Probably one of our most beautiful adventures of this year ended as planned on October 16th in Wellington.

A triumphant year 2022 for the show WoW - World of Wearable Art, which was sold out from September 29th to October 16th.

We can't wait for next year!

Thanks to Brian Burke, Malia Johnston and the whole brilliant WoW team. (And a big and warm thought to Michael Brennan ❤️ for reconnecting us 3 years ago)
